Reconcile gross, fee, net, and bank payout separately
A card charge, its processing fee, the amount paid to the clinic, and the later bank payout describe related but different values. The supported workflow proves the transaction-period equation first, then matches each paid payout to one exact bank entry.
Jane documents payments, refunds, and fees in its payment reporting guide, describes its reports in Your Jane Payments Reports, and explains payout investigation in Investigating Your Jane Payments Payouts.
The proof required for the supported journal
For an ordinary supported charge period, one exact Jane Payments value in Daily Transactions must equal Customer Charge in Jane Payments Transactions. Amount Paid to Clinic plus Jane Payments Fee must equal that same gross amount. These are integer-cent comparisons; one cent of difference blocks the journal.
In this synthetic example, 102.11 + 2.89 = 105.00. It demonstrates the equation, not a prescribed account or tax treatment.
Payout dates do not redefine the transaction period
Payouts can cross month-end because processing and bank-deposit dates differ. Match each paid payout to an exact bank amount within the supported date window. Do not force the total of a transaction-period report to equal a different payout-period total, combine several bank lines, or choose between duplicate amounts automatically.
Refunds and unknown payment types stop posting
The tool can continue showing source and bank evidence, but it does not invent a refund, credit, chargeback, gift-card, or unfamiliar payment treatment. Ask the accountant or bookkeeper to decide the policy, then handle that month outside this V1 posting package.
