Positive Pay guide

How to prepare an Excel cheque list for Positive Pay

Use a clear worksheet, preserve financial identifiers, and review every detected value before generating a supported bank file.

Prepare one clear table

Use one header row and one issued cheque per row. Include separate columns for cheque number, issue date, amount, and payee. Remove decorative title rows and totals that are not cheque entries.

Preserve identifiers and values

Keep cheque numbers as text so Excel does not remove leading zeroes. Use true dates or one consistent date format, keep amounts positive, and do not combine different bank accounts in one generated file.

Review the local proof

The generator reads the selected worksheet in your browser. Compare the detected cheque count, amount total when meaningful, and examples with your source before payment and download.
