Fix a report before you compare
Close Check stops when a report cannot prove its layout, scope or printed totals. Read the code beside your file, correct the export at its source, and replace only that file. There is no charge for file review.
Buildertrend Job Costing Budget
Open each individual job's Job Costing Budget. Show its cost-code hierarchy and Accrual Actual Costs; clear Find, Related Items and Cost Type filters. If QuickBooks costs flow into the budget, complete the needed Sync from QuickBooks before export. Export each full job budget to Excel and add all of the files together. A combined Job Group or partial view cannot support a full close.
Buildertrend Bills
Bills are recommended because they can identify the bill behind a difference. Add one Bills grid export covering the jobs in this close, with one row per bill. Close Check recognizes the workbook from its contents; a line-item layout stops during free file review with a recovery message. Bills are not needed for the Job Costing Budget comparison, and missing bill evidence stays visible in Coverage.
E02 · More than one worksheet
Export one report per .xlsx file. A notes sheet can hide data or make the report ambiguous. Keep the original file and add a fresh export.
E04 · Missing QuickBooks columns
Export Transaction Detail by Account with the Transaction type, customer or project, Product/Service, account, date and amount columns shown in the app's export checklist.
E09 · Printed total differs
Return to the source report and export it again. Do not edit a workbook total to make it pass; the printed total is an independent control.
E24 · Account name collision
Identify the full QuickBooks account and its type. If two report paths still share the same selected leaf, the check stops instead of choosing one.
E25 · Grouped by account
Set Group by to Transaction type in QuickBooks, include the Transaction type column, and export Transaction Detail by Account again.
E27 · Budget hierarchy uncertain
Expand the individual job's Job Costing Budget and export the visible cost-code hierarchy. A flat list without reliable group and detail cues cannot be assigned safely.
E33 · QuickBooks scope
Set Transaction Detail by Account to All Dates and Accrual Basis, remove account, customer and transaction filters, then export again.
E34 · Partial budget
Clear Find, Related Items and Cost Type filters, show the full Job Costing Budget, and export it again.
E35 · Combined Job Group
Open the budget for one individual job, then export one workbook for that job. Repeat for every job in the close.
Your workbooks remain in your browser. The tool does not change Buildertrend or QuickBooks records. If an authentic Buildertrend budget has a layout the checker does not recognize, keep the original and share column headers only if you choose to ask for support.
